Why this work means so much to us.
At Grants by Serra we are committed to the principle that powerful philanthropic work is not rooted in the transaction, rather in the unified act of shared intention. We write from a place that celebrates the power of community to transform itself when granted the right resources. We do this through stewardship and care, bridging capacity with need and cultivating relationships with grantors who share the belief that empowered communities are the foundation of a thriving society. At the heart of our work is relationship. We believe the most powerful funding strategies are built on collective voice, when an organization’s community, partners, and mission speak in unison, grantors listen.
Steph Serra is a cultural producer and interdisciplinary storyteller whose life’s work is humanitarianism. Shaped by a Sarah Lawrence education and years working across film, arts, and community, she curates a rare cross-sector fluency to every grant she writes, Serra moves fluidly between narrative and data, research and rhetoric, strategy and soul.
As founder and lead grant writer of Grants by Serra, Steph is the trusted conduit through which philanthropic resources flow to the communities and causes where they will do the most good. Steph Serra turns relationships, that collective voice, and her interdisciplinary thinking into funding that moves missions forward.
